Grannie’s Cookie Jars & Ice Cream Parlor

Established in 1998, when Eva and Paul Fuchs sold their first cookie jars at a flea market. Realizing there was a market for antique cookie jars, Eva, also known locally as Grannie, set out to collect as many as she could get her hands on. Overflowing their previous shop location, the business moved into a larger building that houses their thousands of cookie jars.

During a recent count for an attempt to break the world record, a count of 2,653 cookie jars was reported to the Guinness Book officials. The Hop Along Cassidy is the most expensive one on the shelves but Grannie’s favorite is the Roy Rogers cookie jar.

Besides cookie jars, the shop also has a large assortment of salt and pepper shakers and other glass items.

Daughter Connie makes the best homemade waffle cones for the hand dipped ice cream as well as 24 flavors of soft serve ice cream.

Inside seating available or sit outside under the gourds and enjoy your ice cream treat. Watch the horse drawn canal boat glide up and down the canal.

While in Metamora, you will want to stop in and browse this unique shop and enjoy an ice cream cone with a “kiss” in every cone as Paul boasts.
