Drees Haus

Drees Haus is a charming home on the historic district walking tour of Oldenburg, a German-Catholic village in southeastern Indiana.

Located on a quiet street with ample street parking, this brick cottage home is an example of the town’s late 19th century architectural style. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the Catholic church.

On the ground floor the living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom have high ceilings, comfortable furniture, and shuttered windows for privacy. The kitchen is well stocked with both a Keurig coffeemaker and traditional coffeemaker, snacks, and breakfast items. Enjoy the view of the garden from the kitchen, or take your coffee out to the wisteria arbor.

A smart TV in the living room, bluetooth, and wifi make you feel at home. The queen bed has, we’re told, the most comfortable mattress ever. The full bathroom features a walk-in shower.

Climbing the stairs to the second floor will reward you with a cozy sitting room with games, puzzles, and and a bedroom with full bed. A freestanding electric fireplace adds to the ambiance in the winter and AC cools the space in the summertime.

Relax outside under the private wisteria arbor, or walk one or two blocks to restaurants, pubs, grocery, playground, historic Sisters of St Francis convent, Holy Family church, antiques and walking trails.

Guests have access to the entire house with the exception of the unfinished basement. This includes two bedrooms, a full bath with walk-in shower, kitchen, living room and sitting room. A small porch off the kitchen overlooks the garden, arbor and the neighboring park.
